I am reading this at the moment and am not too far off finishing it. I am in massive love with it and am quite ready to begin my life o' travellin' and get the cuss out of Australia.
Definitely one of my favourite bits.
They danced down the streets like dingledodies, and I shambled after as I've been doing all my life after people who interest me, because the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!"
I absolutely cannot get enough of Jack Kerouac's writing. Cannot get enough. But I have to distribute my reading around. I have to. Yeup.

Spoke to my brother, it took a few hours for the 'I need to save 1300 dollars in 3 weeks; to sink in. What a shame, I think I'm going to go to another country these holidays anyhow. I'll go by myself even. It might probably only be New Zealand but that's fine haah, so silly.

These holidays
So my brother has been invited to attend a wedding with a girl he dated at one point in his life...who lives in England. He is actually really keen to go and I am thinking...I might go with him. I can get the money together no problem, but my brother is really flimsy with holding plans like this together. However, even of he doesn't go, I might just go by myself anyway, I can stay with Becky, she wouldn't mind. So flights are like $1300...I could get away with $300 spending money for foods and travelling into the city and maybe Paris for one day if I'm lucky. But these holidays, I'd really like to get out of the country on my own accord. I really do. And hopefully go to Queensland for a little bit to see my cousin, go up with my other cousin or something, I dunno. Plans, plans, now school work.

BEEEEEEEEHHH
What an incredible 3 days it has been.
Thursday: went to see Pond which was really incredible. Their support band the Laurels were also so kicking and slightly shoegazey which was great
Friday: went to Velvet Cave, cousin Manka (Nick) came up as well. Had quite a largish posse this time which was a bit hilarious. We're going to be in a lot of photos I think because we were making ridiculous spectacles of ourselves. I hardly think I need to report that we had such a fantastic time
Saturday: RECORD FAIR AND RECORD STORE DAY. Record fair was great. It was so, so great. I got so many good things. I got The Leaves' Hey Joe LP which I am so excited about and also a Rationals 45 which is super groovy. And loads of other stuff. Also, on Saturday night, best gig of my life, so inspiring, never been so giggly at a gig prior to this particularly when there are no men involved in the band the 5.6.7.8's. Cannot believe how fantastic they were. So so so sos sososososososo good. I am so in love and so smitten by them.
So much dancing.
My legs are falling apart like string cheese.
I now have a stupid amount of uni work to do which I really need to do or I'll fail again so I should probably stop being on here because it's a little bit pointless and I'm the only actual one who reads it, which, you know, I don't really mind so much. BUT I HAVE STUFF TO DO.
So I'm leeeeaving here. LEAVIN' HERE.

What a cussing day.
So last night my cousin Nick came up for the afternoon/night to have some fun times. It turned out to be an expensive trip for him, he was fined...twice. Two hundred each one. Poor little human.
Anyway, we had such a fun and silly time, it was marvellous. I fell asleep on the floor at about 2 in the morning after writhing around the lounge room for a while, occasionally throwing a pillow or trying to smother Nick. And vice versa. Prior to this, we threw our own interpretive dance party out on the heavily gravelled road that is my street. It was quite incredible, let me tell you. We ate a lot of food, I drank a lot of aloc acoc, and we tried to watch a lot of things. Well, I tried, he did succeed, my eyeballs weren't agreeing with my brain.
So yes, this morning, waking up on the floor with a very sore backside, I got changed and decided that I would accidentally on purpose leave my flute at home. So I did, and that was fine. Clearly this sneaky decision had an effect on my day, as everything seemed to go hilariously wrong. The power of the flute. I'm tellin' yah. So I got my brother to take us to the train station, so Nikolai could go home, and I uni, and as we left the house and were halfway up the street, I remembered that I had left my folder on the table with all of the things I needed for the day, including the homework task that was due in an hour and a half, and was not yet started. So we pulled back into the driveway and I ran inside and retrieved the bastard of a folder and left the house once more. Halfway to the station, I realised that I had left my weekly bus ticket and my student concession card in my bedroom, and would now have to pay for transport for the day, which equated to almost $10 (but that has it's own segment). I sighed and knew that I would have to get over it, and I did. We were dropped off at the station, we ran to the top of the ramp and began to purchase our tickets. I rummaged through my bag, only to discover, no wallet! RIDICULOUS. I called my brother really quickly before he got too far and asked him to swing back around. So he did, I ran down the ramp, collected my wallet and then ran back up again. I purchased a ticket, and was in such a hurry, that I forgot to collect my ticket from the little chute that it spits out of. Goodbye three dollars.
I remembered this when we got to Central but I used dear cuzcuz's ticket because he didn't need it anymore, he was going further and further in to the realm of trains and their stations.
So I bought two tickets, one to get to uni and one to get from uni back to central. I lost the second one somehow and had to purchase a third ticket to replace that. I then fell asleep on the bus and missed my stop so I was late for work. Maaaaaarvellous. I am really quite tired. I might have a nap. In the meantime, get groovin'.

Bad Little Woman-Exploding White Mice
So, I went to my friend Mckenzie's gig tonight, I got home about ten minutes ago actually, I'm still dressed, shoes on and everything. It was really lovely actually. She is really quite a good songwriter and has an excellent voice (see what I did there?) Anyway, yes, when she has a website or something, I'll link all my keen followers to it. Erm, so I parked my car in the backstreets of the dodgy place where the gig was on, I know it well, but it's still a really scary place. I was a little bit late and I needed to run, but there were a couple of guys in front of me. And men scare me. So I went through the park really quickly but they saw me running and of course had to yell out and whistle and all the rest of it. So I kept running. I told Kenzie's stepmom and her pa once the gig finished and they very sweetly walked me back to my car, for which I was so grateful as there were a group of large men standing around the ute. The ute they would use to carry my daed body in after they killed me. Oi. Too many silly tv shows.
ANYWAY, where I'm getting to is, I kind of always had a feeling Justin (Kenzie's pa) would have excellent taste in music. So we were talking about that on the way to my car, and I was telling him about the doco on punk I watched and he was like yeah I liked all those bands and I also loved this local adelaide band Exploding White Mice. So I looked em up. Lo and behold. Here they are. Thank you for listening.
